In our second edition of Role Model we present one of the richest men in the world, Warren Buffett. Although he is one of the wealthiest people in the world, Warren Buffett has been a humble person, focused and always with his feet on the ground. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1930 and is best known for being the most successful investor in the world. This is due to his financial passion since childhood, some of his anecdotes are: at 11 he bought his first stocks, two years alter he declares his first return on taxes, and in high school he invested in a pinball machine for $ 25 USD and later sold it to the business where he settled for $ 1,200 USD. His education is equally worthy of recognition. At 17 he entered the University of Pennsylvania, but left some time later, and two years later graduated with a degree in management from the University of Nebraska. At 26, he got his master's in economics from Columbia Business School.
His career began in 1951, being an investment salesman in Omaha, his hometown. Nine years later, Buffett operates seven investment associations and two years later, gets his first million. This success is due to merging these associations in its most important company Berkshire Hathaway. It took just 31 years to reach billionaire status since his net worth was $ 8 billion dollars in 1993. This run of success continued to grow until 2008, when he became the richest person in the world with a net worth of $ 62 billion dollars.
As I said at the beginning, Warren Buffett is admirable, as many of his actions have been beneficial to people who have less, and a sample of this is that, like Bill Gates, has decided to donate the 99% of his wealth to charity.
We invite you to learn more of Warren Buffett and perhaps be inspire by him to get your first million.
